Since we're having Liam's little party with family this coming Friday when we're home for Christmas, the actual birthday weekend was an intimate family affair.
Liam and I started the day playing at a local gym with some play group friends. He loved the slide and the trampoline, but the foam block pit was a little overwhelming for him.
That afternoon he took a royal birthday boy long nap!
He tasted his first real sweets when we sang to him {Daddy blew out the candle} and he ate his birthday cake: homemade applesauce cake with buttercream icing. He liked it, but didn't go crazy over the sweetness of the frosting {thankfully}.
But Ben and I have almost finished the whole cake!! It is soooooo yummy.
And Saturday Liam had his first Japanese hibachi experience and he was captivated. The steam! The fire! The good food! The action right in front of his seat! He really liked it.
So, it was a pretty chill weekend.
Just two parents doting on their sweet boy.
Their sweet ONE-YEAR-OLD boy.
P.S. I'm still a little bit in shock that my baby is becoming a big boy so fast.
